This area in Kawit, commonly referred to as “Zeus,” is undergoing a major transformation with the full-scale construction of the CAVITEX–CALAX Link Expressway (CCLink). In preparation for its connection to CAVITEX, several establishments have been demolished. While the ongoing work is causing heavy traffic and inconvenience, its completion is expected to significantly improve this busy intersection.
Meanwhile, construction of the Governor’s Drive Interchange—the longest segment of CALAX—is now 40% complete and is expected to open in the second half of the year. Spanning 8.64 kilometers, it will connect the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange to Governor’s Drive, enhancing connectivity between Aguinaldo Highway and other major roads in Cavite, ultimately easing traffic congestion.
Progress continues on the remaining CALAX sections. According to MPCALA Holdings, Subsection 1 (Kawit Interchange) is now 31% complete, while Subsection 2 (Open Canal Interchange) has reached 21.9% completion.
